Goodbye and Thank You
Dear friends,
As of October 2, 2012, Stop Alcohol Deaths (S.A.D.) will be shutting down. It was a really hard decision for me, but after spending the entire summer thinking about it, I decided it was time to say goodbye. I felt like a failure at first, but I have realized that I tried my best. It was only me doing everything. Being a single mother of two active school-aged kids and having a full-time job, I was getting burnt out. In a way, I felt I was letting my sister down, and that’s what hurt the most. A good friend reminded me that my sister knows what I tried to achieve and knows that I miss her every waking moment. I want to thank my friend for that.
I will keep the Tumblr and Facebook Page up, so that people who have lost loved ones due to alcohol poisoning and/or people who are dealing with alcohol in their lives can be brought together. I still believe that together we can change people’s relationship with alcohol. You can drink but in a responsible way. This was the message I was trying to relay to everyone. It doesn’t have to involve you downing drink after drink, and putting yourself and others in danger.
